THE OPPORTUNITY

Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Civil Project Coordinator on behalf of our client, a general contractor currently delivering an infrastructure project in Richmond and Delta, BC.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Conduct detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine overall project requirements — including bonding, insurance, and associated risk factors
• Plan, schedule, set objectives, and control activities during the construction phase, working closely with the Site Superintendent
• Manage the project schedule with flexibility and adaptability, ensuring changes are implemented as the project demands
• Communicate and uphold company policies and procedures with internal staff and all external parties
• Handle full project administration — resolving issues, scheduling, shop drawing control, invoice approval, progress claims, and maintaining project files
• Manage the preparation and monitoring of quality control documentation
• Serve as the information link between the Site Superintendent and the corporate office

WHAT YOU BRING

• Engineering degree, diploma, or related education with a background working for a General Contractor
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience as a civil construction Project Coordinator
• Experience with construction accounting and project management software (e.g. Explorer, HCSS)
• Proficient in MS Office — Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with AutoCAD or other design software is an asset
• Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach
• Valid BC Driver’s License
• Comfortable working autonomously on-site while maintaining clear communication with the broader team
