Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking an experienced and results-driven High-Rise Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of high-rise residential and mixed-use developments in Vancouver. As a key leader within our clients organization, you will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with internal teams, consultants, trades, and stakeholders to ensure that each project is executed efficiently and aligns with the company’s goals and vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of high-rise construction projects, from pre-construction through to project completion.
  • Lead project teams, including site supervisors, engineers, trades, and subcontractors, ensuring all work is conducted in accordance with project specifications and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants during the design phase to ensure constructability, cost-efficiency, and adherence to design intent.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring timely execution of all project activities.
  • Manage all aspects of project financials, including budgeting, cost tracking, change orders, and financial forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards throughout the construction process.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety, and to ensure that work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or requests.
  • Resolve project-related issues, delays, or challenges in a timely and effective manner to minimize disruption to project timelines.
  • Coordinate with the developer’s sales and marketing teams to align construction progress with sales strategies and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all project activities, including contracts, permits, reports, and project records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of project management experience, with a proven track record of managing high-rise residential or mixed-use developments.
  • Strong knowledge of high-rise construction methods, building codes, and industry best practices.
  • Experience working with a developer-builder, with an understanding of both development and construction processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost management, and project forecasting.
  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices and certifications (e.g., LEED) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the Vancouver construction market, local regulations, and permitting processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certification or other relevant project management certification.
  • Experience with large-scale residential towers or mixed-use projects.
  • Strong network of relationships with local trades, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
