MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for a Senior Contract Admin in Victoria, for our client – an architectural services consulting firm. For over 40 years, they’ve been a trusted partner of developers and construction professionals providing architectural, planning, and interior design services for projects located across Western Canada. Dedicated to excellence, creativity, and sustainability, they’re recognized for their expertise in retail, residential, mixed-use, commercial, and senior health-care projects. 

Responsibilities

• Maintain and review all project documentation, ensure accuracy of shop drawings, schedules, samples and alternate requests
• Perform site reviews at project locations to ensure work is proceeding in accordance with construction contract and relevant building codes, track progress and identify issues or deviations
• Coordinate with contractors, approving authorities or sub-consultants to document and address field issues
• Create and manage any project change documentation, respond to requests for clarification by providing supplemental drawings/specifications
• Collaborate with design team to resolve issues, assist with constructability reviews and provide feedback
• Coordinate the delivery of documents, drawings, and samples for all necessary approvals to clients and consultants and attending meetings as required
• Manage all close-out activities as per project specifications including deficiency reviews, substantial performance review, final occupancy inspection, permits, receipt of manuals/warranties, letters of assurance

Requirements

• Graduate of a certified Building Technology or Architectural program from a professionally recognized institution.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in the Canadian Architectural Industry, with preference given to BC experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in contract administration of construction projects in Canada.
• Multi-disciplinary experience in multi-family residential and commercial projects, with expertise in wood frame, concrete, and non-combustible construction for both new designs and renovations.
• Demonstrated expertise in building technology, particularly in wood frame and concrete construction, with in-depth knowledge of the BC Building Code Part 3 and ASHRAE 90.1 (understanding of NECB would be an asset).
