MatchBox Consulting is seeking a Base Build Superintendent for our client, a leading general contractor with high profile projects across Vancouver.

The Superintendent will be a dedicated and insightful construction professional with previous Base Build project experience.

Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day activities on-site to ensure smooth project progression from start to finish.
Manage construction subcontractors and suppliers on-site, addressing any issues that arise during the project.
Work closely with the Project Management team to deliver a high-quality finished product, while effectively managing the project schedule and budget.
Meet with architects, consultants, and clients to address project issues and maintain positive working relationships.
Utilize Microsoft and other web-based software to manage project-related documents such as labour, materials, equipment, expenses, schedules, meeting minutes, and change requests.
Continuously monitor and manage project expenses, finding ways to minimize costs and providing regular financial reports to management.

Requirements:

5-10 years' experience in commercial construction, preferably in a Site Superintendent role
comprehensive understanding of construction processes and sequencing
enthusiastically takes on complex challenges and tasks
communicates effectively within a team but also capable of making authoritative decisions independently
proficient in managing budgets, change orders, field reports, and progress updates I
proactive communicator with subcontractors and team members, with strong verbal and written skills

meticulous in maintaining site organization and efficiency
