MatchBox Consulting Group is on the hunt for a Structural Project Manager in Edmonton. Our client is a leading structural engineering firm dedicated to delivering high-quality and innovative solutions working on projects across residential, commercial, institutional, and transit realm.
This role presents an opportunity to work on a variety of complex projects without limitations on innovation. You will be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organization that is making a significant impact to the community one project at a time.
Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.

Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Prepare accurate cost estimates and forecasts, and implement strategies to minimize project costs while maximizing value.

Contract Management: Negotiate contracts with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Review contract terms and conditions, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Manage contract administration processes, including procurement and invoicing.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with project execution. Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans to mitigate risks and minimize project disruptions.

Quality Assurance and Control: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that construction activities meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor workmanship and identify areas for improvement.

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, address concerns and inquiries, and facilitate effective communication channels.

Team Leadership and Development: Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project objectives in a collaborative and supportive environment. Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members, fostering professional growth and development.

Health and Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and best practices. Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace accidents and injuries.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 4+ years of experience in engineering, structural engineering preferred
- P.Eng/P.E. designation preferred
- Able to multitask for multiple/large-scale projects, setting team priorities
- Able to manage project time and workflow
- Able to organize and communicate with internal and external team members
- Able to manage project process and order, advise and liaise with external project team members
- Able to provide guidance and troubleshooting for general construction techniques and material use
- Strong organization skills and handling of multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of project process and order, including procurement types
