Duration: 10-Month Contract

Position Overview:

The Superintendent for the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) project on Saturnia Island is responsible for overseeing and managing the construction of a specific project within a 10-month timeframe. This role ensures that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The superintendent will coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, architects, engineers, and clients, to deliver a successful project.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management:

    • Oversee all phases of the ICI construction project from inception to completion.
    • Ensure adherence to the project schedule, budget, and quality standards.
    • Coordinate with project managers and other site supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
  2. Site Supervision:

    • Manage daily operations on the construction site.
    • Supervise construction workers, subcontractors, and vendors.
    • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
  3. Quality Control:

    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure workmanship meets project specifications.
    • Address and resolve any issues or deficiencies promptly.
    • Maintain high standards of quality and safety throughout the construction process.
  4. Communication and Coordination:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all site-related matters.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure project requirements are met.
    • Communicate project updates, progress reports, and any issues to stakeholders.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, inspection reports, and change orders.
    • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to project managers and clients.
    • Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  6. Safety Management:

    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures on the construction site.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for site personnel.
    • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, ensuring corrective actions are taken.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on ICI projects.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
    • In-depth knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Gold Seal Certification) are preferred.
