Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Supply Chain Professional to work on a 12-month contract with very high potential of renewal, for one of BC's largest utility and energy companies.

The Supply Chain Professional is accountable for delivering assigned outcomes related to the development and execution of category/project supply chain strategies, sourcing strategies and/or sourcing activities following established processes and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and plan the implementation of category and/or sourcing strategies or related work packages by using excellent skills in communication, analysis, critical thinking, planning/project management, supplier/market research, problem-solving, and facilitation of decision-making in a large and complex organization.
• Implement category and/or sourcing strategies or related work packages using a thorough understanding sourcing and category management processes and standards.
• Lead and/or support projects that may include developing and conducting multi-stage RFPs, preparing for and conducting negotiations, both initial award and for extensions, as well as implementing supplier relationship management initiatives including analyzing and resolving escalated contract or supplier issues.
• Lead a category, collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders
• Lead communication and negotiation with suppliers Development, Drafting of Lead Supplier Relationship meetings
• Develop and implement RFx, Direct Awards
• Evaluation of of RFx proponent proposals
• Presentation and updates to senior leadership team

Requirements:

• ????A minimum 8 years of sourcing, category management or equivalent, preferably in a complex environment 
• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain or in an equivalent field, and a combination of one of the following:
  o Completion of a professional designation such as SCMP, ISM, PMP or CPA
  o Enrollment in advanced degree program such as MBA or equivalent
  o Completion of a business-related continuing development program

• Excellent interpersonal, communications, negotiating, project management, planning and organizational skills
• Solid understanding of contract development, competitive bid law and contract law.
• Ability to successfully manage large procurement projects, including those of a complex nature
• Ability to lead complex negotiations with large vendors
• Experience in crown corporations or government environments, an asset
