Travelling Superintendent
MatchBox Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a respected North American construction group with a strong pipeline of major industrial and commercial projects across Canada.
Our client is seeking an experienced Travelling Superintendent to lead large, fast-moving construction sites on a rotational basis. Current project locations are primarily in Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario, with FIFO rotations, travel support, and Living Out Allowance provided
This is a strong opportunity for a Superintendent who enjoys running major builds, working with well-resourced project teams, and taking ownership of complex site execution. Project types include food processing facilities, distribution centres, warehouse developments, and other large industrial / commercial base-build projects
The Role
As Superintendent, you will lead day-to-day site operations and ensure construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with drawings, specifications, schedule, and budget
You will coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, labour, equipment, and internal teams while keeping the site organized, productive, and accountable.
Key Responsibilities

Lead site operations on large industrial and commercial construction projects

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, labour, equipment, and site logistics

Maintain and enforce strong safety standards across all site activities

Manage daily progress and drive the project schedule
-
Run site meetings and communicate updates, risks, and solutions

Work closely with project managers, consultants, clients, and internal teams
-
Resolve construction issues and maintain productivity on site
-
Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements

Support a strong site culture built on safety, quality, and accountability
Required Experience
-
10+ years of experience as a Superintendent or senior site leader
-
Proven experience delivering large industrial or commercial construction projects

Strong base-build experience, including steel-frame, slab, envelope, and major site coordination
-
Experience with food processing facilities, distribution centres, warehouses, or large-format commercial builds is an asset
-
Experience managing large site development work, including 15–100 acre sites, is valuable

Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with aggressive schedules

Ability to travel across Canada on rotational assignments
Additional Qualifications

Skilled Trade certification considered an asset

Eligibility to travel to the United States considered an asset

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Comfortable managing large site teams and multiple subcontractors
