Matchbox Consulting is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Vancouver based client. They are a pioneering wood frame construction company committed to delivering sustainable and innovative projects. With a focus on excellence, safety, and environmental responsibility, They are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead their wood frame construction team. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee and contribute to the success of high-profile projects in the construction industry.

Position Overview: As a Senior Project Manager specializing in wood frame construction, you will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex projects. Your expertise in wood frame construction processes, coupled with strong leadership and project management skills, will be crucial in achieving project objectives and ensuring client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning:

   • Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, tailored to wood frame construction requirements.
   • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

2. Team Leadership:

   • Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary project team, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
   • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, encouraging a high level of performance and accountability.

3. Stakeholder Communication:

   • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
   • Provide regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring client expectations are met or exceeded.

4. Budget and Cost Management:

   • Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance, identifying and addressing variances promptly.
   • Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to optimize cost-effectiveness.

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

   • Enforce adherence to wood frame construction standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
   • Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure excellence in craftsmanship.

6. Risk Management:

   • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive problem-solving and minimizing disruptions.
   • Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs in collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager, specifically overseeing wood frame construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of wood frame construction processes, materials, and sustainability practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in project management software and tools.
