MatchBox Consulting is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for our prestigious client. 

Our client is one of Vancouver’s best-known developer-builders, with a 30+ year legacy developing, building and creating Master Plan communities.   

They are seeking an Assistant Superintendent, who can move quickly into a Site Superintendent role. 

Our client is well-known for running an organized project, with support for their field personnel.  The company has several seasoned Site Superintendents who will act as mentors. 

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate trades, vendors, sub-contractors, and consultants in coordination with the Site Superintendent and Project Manager
• Ensure the safety program is adhered to always
• Providing input on schedule
• Provide value engineering when appropriate
• Assisting the Project Superintendent and Project Manager with overall day-to-day supervision of assigned field-related construction activities.
• Ensuring that all projects are performed in accordance with contractual and quality standards and meet code compliance.
• Assist Scheduling and directing the daily activities of work and taking necessary action to assure that the project objectives of cleanliness, safety, price, schedule, quality and process are met.
• Assist Scheduling and managing material procurement and quantities.
• Development, procurement, and enforcement of safety policies and procedures.
• Maintaining daily paperwork, field reports, schedule updates, and E-mail correspondence to keep the various people involved with the project informed of important issues.
• Implementing incremental project schedules that make sure upcoming events are on track and are being proactively addressed.

Requirements:

• 2+ years as an Assistant Superintendent or Site Foreman on multi-family projects
• Red Seal Journeyman and/or construction management education
• A “can do” attitude, willing to learn, grow, and succeed in a fast pace construction environment
• Professionalism and tact, with excellent communication skills.  The Assistant Superintendent will be required to liaise with numerous stakeholders and take over overall site leadership when the Senior Superintendent is away.
• An absolute commitment to safety
• Must be able to identify quality workmanship as it relates to building codes, industry standards, and contract documents.
