On behalf of our client, Matchbox Consulting is seeking a Superintendent. The client is known for being 100% employee-owned company and the first and largest B Corp certified commercial builder in North America, dedicated to putting their values into action every day.
The Superintendent is responsible for management of all field and site-specific construction activities, project design, budget, schedule, performance, subtrades, and profitability of commercial construction projects. This person must be able to communicate effectively with the project manager and the client to stay abreast of all changes and requirements. The Superintendent is responsible for providing direction and leading staff in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure site safety, compliance with regulations, and clear communication of roles.
- Support continuous improvement and quality management systems.
- Manage project activities, budgets, and subcontractor relationships.
- Oversee documentation, including safety logs, timesheets, and purchase orders.
- Coordinate site logistics, equipment, and waste diversion efforts.
- Maintain client relationships and meet project specifications.
- Facilitate staff training and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Journeyman trade certification or equivalent experience.
- Technical diploma and/or Gold Seal certification are considered assets.
- Leadership training and safety certificates.
- Five or more years of experience in commercial construction.
- Three or more years of supervisory or management experience in the construction field.
- SSG experience
