Matchbox Consulting is looking for an Accountant for our client, a boutique real estate developer located in Downtown Vancouver. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Collect all non-construction invoices and process for monthly draw
• Process construction draw
• Preparation of monthly draws with the construction loan
• Review, record and reconcile all bank account entries
• Liaise and coordinate with tax account on all annual filings
• Process GST filings
• Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries
• Assist with the preparation of reporting for partners
• Monitor and follow up with return of letters of credit and deposits
• Liaise and work closely with the development teams, including attending project status meetings and providing financial updates, such as cash needs for all projects, including those in the pre-construction phase
• Assist in the design and implementation of internal controls related to development activity
• Other administrative accounting tasks as required

SKILLS:

• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• The ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical and decisive skills
• Specialized in computer skills in a range of software including: Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of Yardi Job Cost, Sage 300, or other standard accounting systems

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• A Professional Accounting Designation or Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting or equivalent post-secondary education
• At least 2 years of experience in the real estate development and/or high-rise design and construction.
