Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Manager to oversee wood frame construction projects in Langley, BC. As a key leader within our team, you will manage all phases of construction from planning through to project completion. You will work closely with our project team, trades, and clients to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of wood frame construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Lead project teams including site supervisors, tradespeople, and subcontractors to ensure smooth daily operations on-site.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants to ensure compliance with project specifications and building codes.
• Develop and monitor project timelines, ensuring key milestones are met.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, managing site safety protocols and conducting regular site inspections.
• Manage project budgets, track costs, and handle change orders.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and ensure their expectations are met or exceeded.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, contracts, permits, and inspection records.
• Resolve any on-site issues or delays that arise, working to keep projects on track.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in construction management, with a strong focus on wood frame residential/commercial projects.
• Proven experience managing projects for a general contractor.
• In-depth knowledge of wood framing techniques, building codes, and construction processes.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and MS Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of budget management and financial acumen.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Langley and the surrounding areas.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience with multi-family or commercial wood frame construction projects.
• Familiarity with sustainable building practices and green certifications (e.g., LEED).

Working Conditions:

• The role will primarily be based on-site in Langley, with occasional office work.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and on active construction sites.
• Some travel may be required for meetings or site inspections.
