Matchbox Consulting is recruiting on behalf of their client for an ERP Process & Implementation Lead to take on the transformation of our Acumatica ERP system into the true single source of truth for all financial and project data across the organization. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this newly created position will be the driving force behind restructuring the ERP system to maximize its utility, developing robust processes for project data recording and financial inputs, and ensuring company-wide adoption through training and change management.
This is a fully remote role anywhere across Canada.
Our client has built a strong reputation for delivering renewable energy solutions in northern and remote regions. Their work includes microgrids, independent power projects (IPPs), battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar, and wind installations designed to perform in challenging environments. They work closely with First Nations and community partners, prioritizing collaboration, local capacity building, and long-term economic participation.
Strategic Work:
- Lead the restructuring and optimization of our Acumatica ERP system to establish it as the definitive single source of truth for financial and project data across all departments
- Develop and implement standardized processes and workflows for project data recording, financial inputs, timecard management, expense tracking, and reporting
- Design and execute a change management strategy to drive enterprise-wide ERP adoption, including stakeholder engagement plans, communication strategies, and adoption metrics
- Collaborate with Finance and Construction leadership to establish data governance standards, approval workflows, and system usage protocols
- Identify system gaps and process inefficiencies, designing solutions that optimize Acumatica's functionality for project-based renewable energy operations
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for system adoption, data quality, process efficiency, and end-user satisfaction
- Partner with senior leadership to align ERP capabilities with strategic business objectives and growth plans
- Develop comprehensive system documentation and Playbooks (SOPs)
Tactical Work:
- Serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all Acumatica ERP questions, issues, and enhancement requests
- Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for end-users across all departments and experience levels, from field crews to executives
- Conduct one-on-one and group training sessions, creating engaging and accessible training materials tailored to different user roles
- Provide ongoing end-user support, troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and building user confidence in the system
- Work hands-on with project managers, finance staff, and other stakeholders to understand workflow requirements and configure system solutions
- Implement and maintain project management module configurations, ensuring accurate project profiles, budgeting, cost tracking, and revenue recognition
- Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and templates that provide real-time visibility into project performance, financial metrics, and operational KPIs
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity, identify training gaps, and proactively address adoption barriers
- Facilitate cross-departmental workshops to gather requirements, test new processes, and ensure solutions meet actual business needs
- Manage system updates, testing, and rollouts in coordination with Acumatica support or external consultants
- Create and maintain a knowledge base of FAQs, how-to guides, video tutorials, and reference materials accessible to all users
- Execute data cleanup initiatives to improve data quality and system reliability
- Monitor and report on adoption metrics, user engagement, and training effectiveness to leadership
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Educational background in Business Admin, information systems, database management, or computer science.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with an ERP system, preference given to candidates with Acumatica experience.
- Proven track record of successfully driving ERP adoption and change management in a project-based or construction environment
- Demonstrated ability to train diverse user groups, from field personnel to executives, and build genuine buy-in for system changes
- Understanding of project accounting, financial workflows, and construction/project management processes is an asset.
- Excellent process design and documentation skills with a focus on standardization and scalability
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels
- Systems-thinking mindset with proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Experience developing training materials, SOPs, and user documentation
- Self-directed and highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder relationships simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company where adaptability and initiative are essential
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specific experience with Acumatica ERP system (implementation, configuration, or administration) would be considered an asset
- Familiarity with project management or construction operations as it relates to ERP data
- Experience with Google Workspace and SmartSheets/similar project scheduling platforms
- Formal training in ERP systems: certifications, diplomas, relevant degrees.
- Experience with data migration, system integration, or business process reengineering
- Familiarity with financial systems, accounting principles, and project cost accounting
