Matchbox Consulting is hiring a Concept Designer to join one of our clients who are a reputable construction company known for their commitment to delivering high-quality projects across various sectors. With a focus on innovation, integrity, and excellence, they pride themselves on building lasting relationships with their clients and stakeholders.

This role presents an opportunity to craft innovative design concepts that encapsulate project vision and functionality. Responsibilities include site assessment for contextual insights, space planning for tenant improvements, and ideation for multi-family projects. The role involves creating compelling visual presentations to communicate designs effectively. Stay updated on design trends and push creative boundaries.

Role:

• Develop initial design ideas that capture the project's essence and vision. They consider factors like functionality, aesthetics, sustainability, and user experience.
• Ability to assess site, surroundings, context, topography, and other site-specific factors to inform the design concept.
• Space Planning In the context of tenant improvements, create designs that align with the tenant's operational requirements while adhering to the existing structure.
• Concept ideation multi-family projects create design concepts that address the needs of multiple units, communal spaces, and shared amenities while fostering a cohesive aesthetic.
• Develop visual presentations that communicate the design concept to clients, stakeholders, and other team members, using sketches, renderings, and other visual aids.
• Push creative boundaries, exploring innovative design solutions and staying current with design trends and industry developments.

Requirements: 

• Diploma/bachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• Proven experience in conceptual design
• Strong understanding of design principles, functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
• Ability to assess site-specific factors and integrate them into the design concept.
• Proficiency in space planning, particularly for tenant improvement projects.
• Able to create 3D models of design concepts
• Creative flair with the ability to develop visually compelling presentations.
• Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying design concepts to clients and team members.
• A passion for exploring innovative design solutions and staying updated with design trends and industry advancements.
• Strong skilled in REVIT, Rendering software’s, AutoCAD, Civil 3D
• Skilling in photoshop, illustrator and InDesign
• Strong understanding of building code, and bylaws
• Familiar with AI rendering, VR walkthroughs is considered an asset.
