Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Construction Safety Officer on behalf of our client- a prestigious construction firm specializing in commercial, residential, and industrial projects. They are most widely known for leading exceptional residential, commercial, industrial and hotel developments, while providing quality workmanship, excellent customer service and attention to detail.
The individual will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all employees and subcontractors on the construction site.
Conduct regular safety audits of construction sites and identify potential hazards and risks.
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
Collaborate with Site Superintendent and Vice President of Construction
Conduct training sessions and safety drills to ensure that all employees and subcontractors are aware of safety procedures and protocols.
Investigate all accidents and incidents on construction sites and provide detailed reports to management.
Collaborate with management to ensure that all safety equipment is in good working order and that it is being used correctly.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to construction safety.
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety and/or related field
Minimum 2 years of experience working as a CSO in the construction industry
Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to construction safety
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to identify potential hazards and risks on construction sites and develop and implement effective safety policies and procedures
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
