Responsibilities

• Lead the consultant team in the submission of development applications and obtaining required permits and approvals.
• Manage the approval process for Development Permits, expediting resolutions to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Design and Pre-Construction teams to develop building layouts for various types of developments.
• Conduct detailed legal reviews of projects before application preparation, participating in design meetings to assess compliance and constructability concerns.
• Coordinate closely with development and construction teams to ensure successful project turnover, manage consultant schedules, review designs, and integrate client specifications into project designs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Development Manager with expertise in land and building development.
• Proficiency in navigating municipal processes for rezoning, development permits, and building permits, including experience working with municipal departments.
• Ability to review and interpret architectural, civil, and landscape drawings, as well as a strong understanding of legal contracts and title documents.
• Familiarity with municipal governance structures and their impact on development, along with knowledge of Metro Vancouver Development Permit and Building Permit processes.
• Experience in land due diligence review, managing tasks across multiple projects, and establishing effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
