DevOps Engineer

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer for a permanent role with a client of ours located in Vancouver. Hybrid position for local candidates only.

Responsibilities:

• Build, deploy, and manage secure and scalable cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform
• Develop Infrastructure as Code for repeatable and scalable infrastructure using industry standards like Terraform
• Design and Implement CI/CD Pipelines using Atlassian Bamboo and ArgoCD for both infrastructure and product deployment
• Automate processes and deployments of applications and infrastructure using Kubernetes and containerization
• Implement monitoring, management processes, and disaster recovery for operations to provide high availability and ensure scalability
• Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, safeguarding sensitive data and intellectual property

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science or the equivalent work experience
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps principles
• Experience managing, developing, and deploying cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Azure ARM/Bicep or AWS CloudFormation experience a plus
• 2+ years experience with containerization and deployment using Kubernetes and Docker
• 2+ years experience building CI/CD pipelines using any industry standard toolchain
• Knowledge of Prometheus and Grafana for observability and monitoring
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as Linux Bash, PowerShell and Python
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity industry standards such as NIST or CIS

• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
• Nice to have past development experience using C++, C#, Python or JavaScript
• Knowledge of Bamboo, Bitbucket, Jira, and JFrog Artifactory are a plus
