Matchbox Consulting is hiring a Distribution Engineer to join one of our clients who are recognized as being one of the leading Canadian Energy Services Companies. Their work has a significant national impact here Canada.

Role:

• Actively design medium voltage overhead and underground distribution systems, development of distribution standards, electrical specifications, structure analysis and distribution system planning.
• Engineering and oversight of the preparation of distribution system designs and construction packages, preparation of distribution system studies and application of engineering of distribution standards
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior design staff to continuously improve design quality, efficiency, and process for sustainable work. Coordinate with work leads on design requirements, and provide engineering and design oversight in consultation with client owner’s engineers.
• Strong software skills are a key requirement, along with proficiency in mechanics of materials and applied physics and mathematics. Working knowledge of electrical theory is required.
• Working within a variety of the drawing managements systems as determined 
• Working with company and client standards as applicable
• All duties to be performed accurately and efficiently in order to deliver quality products/services on schedule
• Duties may require periodic travel to work sites for varying periods of time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Requirements: 

• Electrical Engineering Degree
• 5+ years of experience in distribution design
• P.Eng
• PLS-CADD, SpidaCalc or CYME System modeling software

Nice to have:

• AutoCAD 
• Knowledge of, and experience working with IEC, IEEE and CSA Standards
