MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer in the sunny Kelowna area! Our client, a leading electrical engineering consulting firm based in Kelowna, British Columbia, provides comprehensive design services for commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential buildings across Western Canada and the Okanagan region. They specialize in new builds and tenant improvement projects, offering services such as Electrical Planning Reports and EV-Ready Plans for BC Stratas.

Their integrated approach involves close collaboration with project teams, including mechanical and structural engineering partners, architects, general contractors, and clients. They emphasize the importance of proactive design to ensure successful outcomes, saving both time and money.

Their designs adhere to national and provincial codes, covering the entire construction and building design process from pre-construction through to final inspection and occupancy.

Responsibilities:

• Design electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and multi-unit residential projects.
• Review and approve drawings and letters of assurance as the engineer of record.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and collaborate with the team.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders, offering construction support.
• Develop life safety systems and prepare technical reports and specifications.
• Assist in project time budgeting and contribute to business development efforts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and P.Eng. designation with EGBC or another Canadian licensing body.
• 5+ years of experience designing electrical distribution systems, lighting, and life safety systems on the secondary network, with at least 1 year as the engineer of record.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes, utility companies, and energy codes.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to review work for accuracy, and the capacity to lead and participate in meetings constructively.
• Client-focused mindset, adept at clear communication and providing support throughout the design and construction phases.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD & Microsoft Office, with additional skills in Revit, AGI32, and SKM considered advantageous.
