Job Summary: The Chief Estimator for ICI and High Rise Residential Projects is responsible for leading and overseeing the estimating department in accurately estimating the costs of construction projects within the industrial, commercial, institutional (ICI), and high-rise residential sectors. This role involves managing a team of estimators, analyzing project specifications, conducting material and labor take-offs, obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotes, and preparing comprehensive cost estimates to support bidding and project planning processes.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of estimators, providing guidance and support in the estimation process.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure that deadlines are met to support the timely completion of estimates.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development within the estimating team.

Project Evaluation and Strategy:
- Review project documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts, to understand project requirements for both ICI and high-rise residential projects.
- Assess project scopes, timelines, and potential risks to develop accurate cost estimates and bidding strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop competitive bids and win strategies.

Cost Estimation and Analysis:
- Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment based on project plans and specifications for ICI and high-rise residential projects.
- Solicit quotes from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and quality for materials and services.
- Analyze cost data, historical trends, and market conditions to determine accurate cost estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Utilize advanced estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and improve accuracy.

Bid Preparation and Presentation:
- Prepare detailed bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and tender packages for submission to clients, developers, and stakeholders for ICI and high-rise residential projects.
- Lead bid meetings, negotiations, and presentations, effectively communicating the value proposition and competitive advantages of the company’s bids.
- Ensure that bids are compliant with project requirements, regulations, and industry standards while maintaining profitability.

Supplier and Subcontractor Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors, negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions to secure the best value for materials and services.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to obtain accurate quotes and subcontract agreements specific to ICI and high-rise residential projects.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor performance, ensuring reliability, quality, and adherence to project schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Extensive experience as an estimator in the ICI and high-rise residential construction sectors, with a proven track record of successful project bidding and cost estimation.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of estimators.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and regulations applicable to ICI and high-rise residential projects.
- Proficiency in advanced estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimating.
