About the Role

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Manager, Procurement to join a leading electrical contracting and systems integration firm at their Burnaby head office. Occasional travel to regional offices may be required.

Reporting to senior leadership, the Manager, Procurement will lead the Purchasing team and take ownership of planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all purchasing activities. This role is central to developing and implementing procurement policies that support operational excellence across a dynamic, project-driven organization.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with Project Managers to ensure materials meet technical requirements, cost estimates, and delivery timelines
• Provide leadership to a team of Procurement Specialists, including recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing mentorship
• Negotiate, manage, and ensure compliance with vendor agreements
• Promote procurement best practices across Procurement Specialists and Project Manager/Estimators in all regions
• Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures, and manage the departmental budget
• Source and evaluate vendors, materials, equipment, and supplies based on cost, quality, and service
• Lead or oversee all contract negotiations

What We’re Looking For

• ???????10+ years of experience as a Purchasing Specialist/Manager in the electrical construction industry

• 5+ years of experience leading a procurement team

• Proven experience sourcing materials, equipment, and supplies in the electrical or construction industry
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with individuals at all levels of an organization
• Experience managing relationships with electrical distributors, suppliers, and manufacturers
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively and manage risk

Nice-to-Haves

• Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, or current enrollment in a Supply Chain Management Association program
