MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager. This is a client-side “owner’s rep” project management role for an establish national real estate company. 

About Our Client: Our client is dedicated to creating an inclusive and diverse work environment where everyone feels valued and respected. As part of their team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping high-rise residential and commerical projects across Metro Vancouver.

The Role: As a Project Manager, you will lead the charge in project planning and execution from pre-construction through to completion. Responsibilities will span the management and coordination of design, value engineering, pre-tendering activities, and consultant contracts. This role is crucial in driving the successful execution of complex developments during the construction and close-out phases.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and Manage Projects: Oversee all facets of office building Tenant Improvement and landlord work construction projects, ensuring they meet pre-established cost, schedule, and scope objectives.
  • Resource Coordination: Identify and manage the necessary resources for effective project management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (investments, marketing, leasing) and external partners (consultants, general contractors, municipal staff).
  • Team Coordination: Work with general contractors, subcontractors, planners, engineers, architects, and other consultants.
  • Regular Reporting: Keep project stakeholders updated with regular reports and progress updates.
  • Procurement Management: Prepare RFPs for consultants and contractors, and review tender packages and contracts.
  • Progress Monitoring: Hold regular construction progress meetings, track productivity, and manage planned vs. actual progress.
  • Financial Management: Handle accounting functions, including issuing purchase orders, cost file maintenance, managing change orders, billings, and account reconciliation.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure all legal paperwork, including permits, is secured.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold the high-quality standards of our client’s projects.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate design, construction, and budget risks.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensure project cost efficiency, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.
  • Project Closeout: Manage overall project closeout, including document maintenance, deficiencies, and warranty work.

What They Look For:

  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant project management experience.
  • Certifications: PMP or P.Eng designation is a plus. 
  • Technical Skills: Strong ability to analyze site and building drawings; proficient in scheduling systems like Project and P6.
  • Business Acumen: Understand the big picture of cost vs. risk.
  • Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional and remote teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Refined attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • Resilience: Ability to thrive under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Team Player: Collaborative spirit and strong team player.
