They build a little bit of everything – not just one ting over and over
Mostly MF coming up – $10M to $40M
Role and Responsibilities
Assist in compiling and coordinating drawings and specifications in accordance with the tender documents;
Contribute to client/in-house design briefs;
Facilitate cost control in design development budgets;
Prepare, monitors and update construction budgets;
Prepare and review construction cost estimates from initial design stage to final working drawings;
Prepare and manage tender packages which includes scopes of work and tender documentation for the trades;
Prepare the tender analysis based on submitted tenders from the Trades;
Research products that homeowners want in their home and designers want to sell;
Meet with the Trade contractors and as part of the contract award procedure; reviews scope of work, prepare minutes and letter of intent;
Prepare, review and edit contract documents;
Analyze and recommend Trade contractor change orders in coordination with the Project Manager and site personnel;
Review trade contract final accounts;
Review and monitor external cost consultant and construction management reports;
Conduct feasibility and value engineering studies;
Review drawings and specifications and provide feedback concerning costs and practicality;
Provide input on cash flow projections and life cycle costs when required;
Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
Requirements
Construction Knowledge:
A deep understanding of construction processes, materials, & methods is essential.  This includes knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, & industry standards.
An ability to accurately assess the scope of a project & understand the intricacies of construction tasks is crucial.
Quantitative Analysis:
Needs to possess strong mathematical & analytical skills for interpreting blueprints, calculations of material quantities, & estimating costs.
Attention to Detail:
Precision is key to quality estimates
Communication Skills:
Ability to interact with vendors, suppliers, & team members
Be able to clearly articulate their estimates, explain their reasoning, & negotiate terms
