MatchBox Consulting Group is searching a Senior Contract Administrator in Edmonton, AB. Our client is an innovative Architectural firm known for it’s sustainable and visually appealing designs. They collaborate with their clients to create function and environmental responsible spaces across various sectors, including commercial, multi-family residential, institutional, and mixed-use projects. With a focus on user experience and a commitment to excellence, our client delivers exceptional designs that enhance productivity, well-being, and the overall quality of life.

This person will independently handle contract administration tasks, acting as the architect's representative for office and field activities, such as meetings, field reviews, contractor inquiries, submittal reviews, change management documentation, team communication, and construction contract interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site reviews for compliance with construction contracts and building codes.
• Create field reports adhering to S2 standards, documenting progress and deviations.
• Facilitate timely issue resolution between owners and contractors.
• Coordinate, review, and confirm accuracy of project documentation.
• Manage payment certifications and project completion assessments.
• Collaborate with contractors, sub-consultants, and authorities on project-related issues.
• Prepare project change documentation and attend progress meetings.
• Assist with project closeout and maintain safe work practices on construction sites.
• Travel to project locations as necessary.
• Provide support across various tasks as needed for project and firm success.

Requirements

• Proficient in Design Build, Construction Management, and Design Bid Build contract environments.
• In-depth comprehension of construction and consulting contracts, including CCDC-2, CCDC-5, and RAIC Document Six.
• Advanced expertise in administering construction projects under contract.
• Extensive understanding of the design and construction processes.
• Strong grasp of project design, creative detailing, specifications, and building systems.
• Profound understanding of the roles and relationships among construction and consulting teams.
• Expertise in building codes and regulatory requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of site safety protocols, including fall restraint and hazard assessment.
• Stays updated on current building systems and code changes.
• Advanced understanding of construction sequencing.
• Microsoft Office Suite
