Matchbox Consulting is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to join one of our clients who are recognized as being one of British Columbia’s largest electrical contractors. They have successfully completed many electrical construction projects for commercial, industrial, and utility clients throughout Canada. 

The Electrical Engineer will support construction teams with installation, planning, drawing reviews, drafting, and coordination of electrical systems for multiple complex infrastructure projects. You will perform in a lead role assisting junior team members in the Design department. 

Role:

• Design, develop, and maintain electrical control systems and components to required specifications, focusing on commercial electrical distribution systems
• Produce accurate load calculations and single-line diagrams for various projects
• Design lighting systems to meet project requirements
• Create and review electrical drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders on design assist and design-build projects
• Oversee and coordinate the work of design engineering personnel for the Design Department
• Provide guidance and training to design team members
• Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and interacting with customers
• Minimum 5 years of experience in reviewing designs to assure compliance with permitting requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards
• Experience with design assist and design-build projects is highly desirable
