Senior QA Engineer

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior QA Engineer for a 6 month contract role with a client of ours located in Vancouver.

Responsibilities:

• Planning, developing, and executing tests, and understanding and communicating the risks associated with a product and its development
• Developing a test strategy that guides testing for your team’s product or project
• Owning and understanding the integration of your team’s technology product into the broader application infrastructure  
• Championing quality guidelines and standards (including Test Engineering best practices) and providing feedback to processes
• Developing and maintaining test automation using the tools provided (including Tricentis Testim/TTA)
• Supporting the Test Engineering Guild in initiatives, undertaking work that elevates and supports the engineering practice

Requirements:

• 5-7 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
• Think strategically about testing software products and integrations 
• Understand product and project risk, and how to communicate about risks to your team
• Experience building test strategy, and leading test projects
• Experience with test automation record/playbook tools
• Experience with Tricentis test tools, particularly Testim, Tosca, TestRail, and TTA
• Experience with mobile application test tools, like BrowserStack
• Understand, modify, and execute pre-written tests in Cypress or similar automation frameworks
• 1-2 years experience with Javascript, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with API and backend testing
• Experience testing microservices and their integrations with other systems
• Knowledge and experience with Agile project tracking tools and JIRA
