MatchBox Consulting Group are currently seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to work on a 1-year contract on behalf of one of BC’s largest Electrical and Utility providers on a 1 year contract.
The successful candidate has the opportunity to work remotely, but must be based in Nanaimo or Victoria, BC.

The purpose of the Stakeholder Engagement Advisor is to lead, design and implement stakeholder engagement programs for high profile capital projects.

Responsibilities:

• Compose, write, and edit communication materials including newsletters, management reports, and presentations by using expert skills in communication, planning, and implementation as well as good knowledge of project management principles to support assigned business groups.
• Lead communication planning for formal programs and projects, including developing required deliverables, providing progress reports, and presenting implementation plans to business leads, steering committees, and/or executive sponsors so that assigned projects and initiatives are successfully implemented as planned.
• Create effective communication plans by using consultative methodologies and techniques including online platforms to accurately determine communication needs of the assigned project or initiative.
• Act as subject matter expert by advising on communication and stakeholder relations best practices, models, standards, policies and procedures to help build communication capability at.
• Collaborate with business teams by using persuasive influence, excellent business knowledge, and fluency in news, ideas, and culture to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders so that projects and strategic initiatives are successfully completed.

Must haves:

• A minimum seven (7) years of experience in a leadership level capacity
• Master’s degree or accreditation or equivalent senior level course work through ACA, BCAMA, IAB, IAP2, IABC, CPRS or CAAP
• Strong Issues Management Skills
• Experience with provincial and federal regulatory processes (for example BC Utility Commissions, Environmental Assessment Office, Canada Energy Regulator)
• Strong Facilitation & Engagement Skills
• Must be able to travel within Vancouver Island and Lower Mainland

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Electrical Utility industry
