Work Package Manager
Location: Burnaby or Surrey, BC
Duration: 12-Month Contract
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Work Package Manager to support one of British Columbia's largest utility providers. This role plays a critical part in a Program and Contract Management team responsible for delivering complex infrastructure projects safely and efficiently across the province.

Responsibilities
- Manage assigned work packages from planning through execution and project closeout.
- Develop project strategies, schedules, forecasts, reports, and tracking mechanisms to ensure successful delivery.
- Coordinate design management, construction management, field data management, and project reporting activities.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, risks, and deliverables while identifying and resolving issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, procurement, technical teams, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Analyze financial and operational data to support strategic decision-making and project performance.
- Coordinate communication between field teams and technical staff to support issue resolution and project execution.
- Manage contract administration activities, including reviewing contractor deliverables, invoices, and supporting contract negotiations.
- Prepare project closeout documentation, lessons learned, quality assurance records, and stakeholder reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance program efficiency and project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent project/program management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible project, program, or business management experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical, planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and reporting.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Must Haves
- 5+ years of project or program management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- High emotional intelligence with a willingness to learn, receive feedback, and adapt.
- Ability to understand both the detailed work package requirements and the broader program objectives.
Nice to Have
- Utility or infrastructure project experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation.
- Experience with contract administration and contractor management.
- Experience interpreting financial or asset-related data.
- Experience supporting field operations and construction project delivery.
