Superintendent – Industrial Construction

Location: Calgary

MatchBox Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a respected and growing construction organization seeking an experienced Superintendent to join their team. This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role on a significant industrial project, overseeing site operations from planning through execution while working alongside a collaborative and safety-focused team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead day-to-day site operations and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and field staff.
• Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules, sequencing, and site logistics plans.
• Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve site issues.
• Work closely with project managers, consultants, and stakeholders to maintain project alignment.
• Oversee inspections, permits, testing, and quality control processes.
• Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and project partners.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all site safety requirements.
• Review progress, track field productivity, and support cost control efforts.
• Mentor field staff and contribute to the development of junior team members.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of Superintendent or field leadership experience within construction.
• Background in industrial, commercial, institutional, or large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, contracts, and site coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; scheduling software experience is an asset.
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
