Contract Professional

Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Duration: 12-Month Contract

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Contract Professional to support one of British Columbia's largest utility providers. This is an excellent opportunity for a contract management professional with experience administering complex contracts throughout the post-award lifecycle while working closely with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will manage medium- to high-complexity contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met while supporting successful project delivery through effective contract administration, stakeholder engagement, and supplier performance management.

Responsibilities

• Manage post-award contracts throughout the contract lifecycle.

• Monitor contractor performance and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.

• Coordinate contract changes, payment processing, submittal management, and project closeout activities.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with project teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders.

• Monitor contract performance, identify risks, and recommend timely corrective actions.

• Forecast, monitor, and report on contract usage and financial performance.

• Support project teams by providing contract management advice and guidance.

• Assist in resolving contract issues while minimizing project risk.

• Prepare reports, documentation, and contract administration records.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Law, Economics, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• Minimum 9 years of contract management experience.

• Strong experience managing post-award contracts, including change management, payment processing, submittal management, and contract closeout.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the public sector.

• Utility or infrastructure industry experience.

• Procurement and pre-award contract experience.

• SAP experience.

• Experience with commercial claims management.

• Familiarity with AI tools and AI literacy.

Work Environment

• Hybrid position based in Vancouver, BC.

• Two days per week onsite with the remainder of the week working remotely.

• Occasional travel to project sites may be required in accordance with company travel policies.
