MatchBox Consulting is seeking a Drafting Technician in Edmonton for one of our longstanding and reputable clients who are dedicated to delivering high-quality and innovative solutions while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
You will work alongside Project Teams on Land Development and Public Sector projects, providing CAD drafting and design services. Reporting directly to the Branch/Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Create design drawings for municipal and land development engineering projects using AutoCAD Civil3D.
- Develop conceptual and preliminary plans, as well as report figures.
- Design roads, underground utilities, and grading for land development projects.
- Generate quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Build terrain models from topographic survey data and compile as-built records.
- Provide technical support to project managers, engineers, and designers, and contribute to process improvement efforts, including training junior team members and ensuring adherence to company safety policies.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, or equivalent education and experience.
- Registration with ASET (Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals) or eligibility for registration.
- 3 years of experience in lot grading, roadways, sewers, and water design for Land Development and Municipal projects.
- Strong understanding of local and approving authorities' engineering design standards.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a high level of dependability and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D.
