• Location: Vancouver, British Columbia
  • Type: Direct Hire
  • Job #14198

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Foreman on behalf of one of British Columbia’s growing and highly respected electrical contractors specializing in commercial, institutional, and technology-focused electrical projects across the Lower Mainland.

This role is ideal for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys leading crews, running organized sites, mentoring teams, and delivering high-quality commercial projects within a strong long-term company environment.

Unlike companies that hire solely for short-term projects, this organization hires for long-term growth and career development. Many members of senior leadership started on the tools themselves as Red Seal Electricians, creating a strong pathway for electricians who want to continue advancing their careers into leadership and operations.

The company continues to secure a strong pipeline of exciting commercial, institutional, infrastructure, tenant improvement, and new construction projects across Metro Vancouver.

Why This Role Stands Out

Many Foremen spend their time jumping between uncertain projects, dealing with inconsistent workloads, or working within companies focused only on short-term delivery.

This opportunity offers something different:

  • Long-term career growth with a stable and growing electrical contractor
  • A strong and diverse portfolio of commercial and infrastructure work
  • Leadership that understands the trade and values field experience
  • The opportunity to mentor apprentices and Lead Hands
  • Exposure to complex commercial TI, institutional, and design-build projects
  • Strong internal culture focused on collaboration and development
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, RRSP matching, and bonus opportunities

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys staying involved in technically strong projects while building long-term relationships internally and externally.

The Role

The Foreman will oversee electrical construction projects from start to finish while working closely with Project Managers, Coordinators, Lead Hands, and field crews.

This position requires a highly organized and technically capable leader who is comfortable balancing field operations, scheduling, communication, documentation, and client coordination.

The ideal candidate is someone who is tech-savvy, proactive, and confident leading commercial electrical projects in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial electrical projects from start to finish
  • Supervise electricians, Lead Hands, apprentices, and subcontractors on site
  • Coordinate daily site operations, manpower, and workflow
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Ensure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code and safety standards
  • Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and inventory management
  • Conduct site inspections and resolve field issues efficiently
  • Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, consultants, and clients
  • Maintain project documentation including RFIs, change orders, material logs, and work reports
  • Coordinate municipal inspections and approvals
  • Lead safety meetings and maintain strong jobsite safety practices
  • Support project closeout documentation including O&M manuals and warranty documentation

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Electrical Certification preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Journeyperson Electrician
  • 2+ years of Foreman experience within commercial electrical construction
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
  • Experience managing commercial TI and design-build projects
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and project technology tools
  • Strong organizational and scheduling abilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve field issues efficiently
  • Experience coordinating crews, schedules, and materials across active sites

The Company

Founded in Vancouver in 1997, our client has grown from a small local electrical contractor into a leading provider of electrical, communications, security, and wireless systems integration services across British Columbia and beyond.

With a team of 100+ professionals, the company delivers complex commercial and industrial projects while maintaining a strong reputation for technical excellence, long-term client relationships, and employee development.

Their work spans commercial tenant improvements, institutional infrastructure, industrial facilities, technology systems, and large-scale design-build electrical projects.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly range: approximately $40–$50/hour depending on experience
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • 3 weeks vacation
  • RRSP matching program
  • Comprehensive benefits package including Health Spending Account
  • Long-term career growth and advancement opportunities
